The following is a summary of some of the pulp and paper industry projects we have worked on through the years.

Paper Machine Refiner Installation

Engineering design for the installation of a 700 HP double disk tickler refiner on the No. 3 Paper Machine.

Decker Installation

Engineering design for the installation of a fourth decker for deinked stock thickening.

Phase II - Recycle Plant Expansion

Provide miscellaneous design services to assist in the upgrade and expansion of the recycle fiber plant.

Recovery Boiler Drum Level Installation

Engineering, design to install new Steam Drum level sensors and interlock to boiler trips

Recovery Boiler BLRBAC Upgrade

Electrical and controls design, programming and construction support.

Secondary Fiber Plant Expansion

Provide preliminary design and Class 10 appropriation grade estimate for doubling the capacity of an existing Secondary Fiber Plant.

Feedwater System As-Built

Complete as-built of the instrumentation and controls for the Mill Feedwater System. Project included P&ID's, loops and SAMA diagrams.

TRS Monitor Installation

Engineering and design services to complete the installation of two owner-furnished TRS sampling and monitoring systems on their No. 5 Recovery Boiler and No. 4 Kiln.

BLRBAC Upgrade

Provide evaluation and +10% estimate to bring the No. 3 and No. 5 Recovery Boilers up to BLRBAC requirements for an appropriations grade request.

Paper Machine Condensate (Return) Flow System

Provide preliminary design and Class 10 estimate for the installation of flow meters and recorders on the No. 2 Paper Machine for an appropriations grade request.

Waste Fuel Boiler As-Built

Complete as-built of the instrumentation and controls for the Waste Fuel Boiler. Project included P&ID's, Loops and SAMA diagrams.

Washer Retrofit

Provide process evaluation and Class 10 cost estimate for an appropriations grade request.

Recovery Boiler Black Liquor Door Interlocks

Provide design and documentation for the installation of limit switches and operator interface for the Black Liquor Oscillator gun doors on the No. 3 and No. 5 Recovery Boilers.

Recovery Boiler Rebuild (Post-Explosion)

Construction support, design of new instrumentation and as-built of P&ID's and Loop diagrams.

Paper Machine Refiner Installation

Engineering and design for the installation of a third refiner.

Plant Effluent Study

Study to evaluate the effluent streams and develop projects to reduce effluent and close-up the process.

Steam Box Hood Vacuum System Modification

Engineering and design of the modifications to the existing paper machine vacuum hood to improve moisture removal efficiency from the sheet.

Chip and Sawdust Silo Control and Power System Upgrade

New MCCs and instrumentation for the upgrade of the chip and sawdust system from the chip pile to the silo table feeders.

Paper Machine Rossilator Shower As-Built

As-built of the existing rossilator shower.

Paper Machine Uhle Box Separator

Design of a new Uhle Box Separation System including vessels and piping.

Paper Machine Drives Upgrade

Mechanical design of new motor bases and drives for a new GE drive system. As-built of the existing and design of new benchboards for the new drive systems. Complete shutdown construction support and supervision.

Water System Conservation and Management System

Evaluation of the existing water system and preliminary design of a new filtration system to reduce turbidity and provide the mill with a completely flexible water source. Preliminary layouts and Class 10 construction cost estimate for the new system.

Power Boiler Ash Handling System

Preliminary design and construction Class 10 cost estimate for a new ash handling, conveying and storage system.

Paper Machine Silent Drive Dryer Study

System evaluation, preliminary design and construction cost estimate for the upgrade of the existing PM to a silent drive system.

Process and Capacity Improvement Project

Capacity upgrade of the existing facility from 80 TPD to 275 TPD. Included was a new pulper, tanks, piping and mechanical design.

Chlorine Relief System Evaluation

As-built and evaluation of the existing chlorine system for safety.

Paper Mill Restart

Detailed engineering, design and construction management for a project to restart a paper mill using market pulp. Included installation of a pulper, new refiners, stock blending controls, PLC based control system, and a new hog fuel handling system.

Deink Pulp Mill Economic Feasibility

Study the economic feasibility of constructing a 200 to 300 TPD deink pulp mill designed to produce fine paper pulp from 100% post consumer waste.

Hardwood and Softwood Refiners

Preliminary engineering, cost estimating, detailed design and construction management for the installation of three double disk refiners. This project included online freeness analyzers.

Chlorine Dioxide Chillers

Detailed design and engineering for the installation of two chillers to provide chilled water for the production of chlorine dioxide.

Reliability Study

Identify and analyze the causes of reliability problems in all areas of a 1740 TPD bleached kraft market pulp mill.
